I'm Alexander Bückner, a design engineer. I take products from idea to deployed system on my own: architecture, backend, frontend, DevOps, and the design that makes it feel good.
Where it started
Eigen Mesh started because I needed help with my tasks. AI was really taking off, and I wanted to coordinate my thoughts with the thoughts of my Hermes agent.
Thoughts on equal terms
While I was building it, I came to a conclusion: it would be unfair if I were the one with the main database and the agent only got access to read my thoughts. It would be much nicer if my thoughts and the agent's could coexist, on equal terms.
So I built Eigen Mesh to be AI-native and multiplayer from the ground up, and went from there.
Why I need it
I juggle several projects, and I'm notoriously bad at organizing myself. My whole life, I've used technology as a means to get the support I need.
With Eigen Mesh, I don't have loose ends anymore. I don't forget things, I don't miss deadlines, and I do my taxes on time. It has been life-changing for me, and I really believe in it.
It began with me wanting a tool to organize a fleet of agents. Now it's how I keep my life together, and I still orchestrate a fleet of agents.
Where I come from
I spent years as a full-stack engineer. It started at a startup where I did everything: design, marketing, SEO, print (including a collaboration with ZEIT Schüler Campus), and the engineering. I built a platform there that grew to around a million monthly users.
In 2024 I left employment to bet on AI. I founded Empathy-Link, my first startup, which is still in stealth. I'm a big believer in open source and in owning your infrastructure.
What Eigen Mesh is
Eigen Mesh is an open-source memory layer for the age of AI agents. It connects your tools through MCP and gives you one place to keep your memories: LLM-agnostic, provider-independent, fully yours. You can switch between models and tools freely without losing anything.

If any of this resonates, follow Eigen Mesh, try it, contribute, or work with me. The code is open source under Apache 2.0 at github.com/hikaru90/eigen, and the hosted version is at eigenmesh.xyz. You can reach me on LinkedIn.
