What Eigen Mesh is
Eigen Mesh is open-source personal AI memory infrastructure. You capture thoughts in plain language — preferences, projects, decisions, everyday facts — and Eigen Mesh enriches, classifies, and organizes them into a searchable knowledge base that any AI assistant can reach through MCP. It is a product of Kindred Digital Labs UG, built in Hamburg, Germany.
Why we built it
We built Eigen Mesh because we got tired of asking permission. A year of context built up with one assistant turned out not to be portable — no export, no API, no way to take it with us. The labs keep shipping memory that serves them instead of the people using it. We took the opposite stance: no vendor lock-in, no training on your data, deliberate capture instead of passive surveillance, and Apache 2.0 so you can always leave with the whole thing intact. The self-hosted version is not a consolation prize — it is the guarantee that the hosted one can be trusted.
What we promise
We don't train on your data, and we don't mine your inbox or transcripts — you say it, you meant it, it's saved. Your memory is portable across AI tools via MCP. Your data stays in your database: encrypted at rest, tenant-isolated. The business model is the price you see: 100 free credits, then €3.99/month on managed hosting, or free self-hosted with your own API keys. EU-based, GDPR-shaped.
